Organizing for Hmong & Black Liberation
UW Red Gym 716 Langdon St., Madison, Wisconsin
In light of the 2014 killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson, the movement for Black Lives emerged to raise the visibility of police violence in Black communities and the call to end anti-Blackness in society. This has inspired thousands of young people to join the movement and created political will to influence local to national policies. Asian Americans across the country have stood in solidarity, building upon and creating new relationships and alliances. What are the strategies in the Asian American community? What are the opportunities and challenges? What is the role of Asian Americans in the racial justice movement?
