Our Waters, Our Future Writing Workshop
Central Library 201 W. Mifflin St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
Water is essential to our lives, but big changes, like a warming world, are bringing big challenges. Help build a future we want by imagining what that looks like and sharing your vision. This workshop is an opportunity to craft inspiring short stories about the future of water and people in south-central Wisconsin, and uses existing examples to discuss the value of telling solutions-oriented stories about the future. Please bring your own laptop or paper and writing utensil, whichever you prefer. This workshop doubles as a chance to work on a submission for the Our Waters, Our Future writing contest, which seeks short stories about positive futures for water and people. The contest is a team effort by the UW-Madison Water Sustainability and Climate Project and Center for Limnology, Madison Magazine, Sustain Dane, and the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters. The deadline is February 1, 2016, and the winning story will be published in Madison Magazine.
