The Madison BandSwap Networking Party & Panel is designed to enhance creative connections and provide music industry insight for bands and musicians.
The event begins with a panel discussion titled "Professional Skills for Working Musicians." The panel, moderated by Guy Hankel (Yahara Music Library), will feature Attorney Elizabeth Russell (expert in copyright law), Rick Tvedt (Accountant, MAMAs, Rick's Cafe), Roy Elkins (Broadjam), and Josh Harty (touring musician and founder of the Wiscsonsin Room).
Following the panel discussion there will be the opportunity for networking. Who knows, maybe you'll find a gig, a client, a connection or a collaboration. The panel will be followed by a fundraiser for the Wisconsin Room at the High Noon Saloon at 8pm.
The Madison Arts Commission is pleased to announce this year's Madison BandSwap events to celebrate and support local musicians. BandSwap is a project of SpokesBUZZ, a 501(c)(3) organization, headquartered in Fort Collins.
This is the third year the City of Madison will participate in BandSwap and this year the Madison Arts Commission has expanded opportunities for local musicians to participate by partnering with The Wisconsin Room to help send seven Madison musicians to showcase their talents at the Wisconsin Stage at the International Folk Alliance in Kansas City, Missouri on February 17-21.Musician's participating in the Wisconsin Room are Madison Malone, Louka Patenaude, Christopher Plowman: Ida Jo (Pajunen), Harmonious Wail (Sims & Maggie Delaney-Potthoff), Anna Vogelzang, Josh Harty & Jess Parvin.
February 17-21--Road trip to the Wisconsin Stage at the International Folk Alliance in Kansas City, Missouri. The Wisconsin Stage will feature 7 Madison artists.
On March 19, Josh Harty puts the swap in BandSwap by inviting Kansas City musicians to perform along with him at his CD release party in at High Noon Saloon.
