Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk

Join the 100 Black Men of Madison for our 4th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk. Our goal is to raise awareness about prostate cancer and encourage men to be screened through this fun, healthy, family-oriented event.
According to the Center for Disease Control, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the United States. African American men have higher rates of getting and dying from the disease, although it is still unclear why.
Schedule of Events: 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. - Registration; 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. - Program; 8:45 - 9:00 a.m. - Prepare for walk at corner of Wilson Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.; 9:00 a.m. - Walk begins
The walking route will proceed from the corner of Wilson Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, around the Capitol, and finish at the steps of the Capitol. Coffee and water will be provided. Food will not be provided; please eat appropriately prior to arriving. Wear comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes that are appropriate for this activity (walking).
No special parking arrangements have been made for this event. Park in a location that is convenient for you.
An event t-shirt will be provided to each person who registers online.
