This winter series at Olbrich highlighting cultures from around the world returns just in time for a scheduled day off for the Madison and Middleton school districts. Wisconsin Surma, a UW-Madison dance team mixing hip-hop, contemporary and classical Indian styles, will present a program for all ages in the Bolz Conservatory. Tickets go on sale about an hour before each performance.

Olbrich Gardens’ Rainforest Rhythms series celebrates cultures in rainforest regions around the world with authentic performances of music and dance. The series offers performances for all ages and includes free admission to Olbrich’s tropical Bolz Conservatory.

Wisconsin Surma is the premier co-ed Bollywood fusion dance team in Wisconsin, based at UW-Madison. They compete nationally alongside some of the best schools and teams in the country. Students perform a routine consisting of a variety of dance genres such as contemporary, hip-hop, bhangra, and Indian classical. Their mission is to empower dancers, create community, and form long-lasting friendships.

$8/adult, $4/child.  Purchase tickets at the door starting one hour before each performance. Doors open to the performance space approximately 30 minutes prior to each performance.
