4th RathaYatra & India Festival
An Indian multi-cultural parade and festival will be celebrated with entertainment for all. There will be live music, singing, classical dance, bazaar (market), fun activities for kids, and lots of delicious vegetarian food. The Ratha (CHARIOT) Yatra (FESTIVAL) is the oldest known parade in the world. Taking place at Hindu Temple and Cultural Center, 2138 South Fish Hatchery Road.
This is a 5,000 year old tradition of the celebration of Lord Krishna’ return to Vrindaban. Millions of people from around the world descend to PURI, India to celebrate this unbelievable festival.
Everyone is welcome. There is no entry fee. It will be a wonderful break from the daily hustle and bustle in Madison.
Saturday, Jul, 18, 2015. In HTCC property at 2138 South FishHatchery Road, Fitchburg. The day’s event starts as early as 7am and public event starts at 9:00am. Inaugural festival with dignitaries starts at 11:00 am. Procession starts at 11:30 am. Counters open at 10:00 am. Cultural program continues throughout the day and ends at 3:00 pm.
