Untold stories: Theatre LILA offers a free workshop where participants use physical improvisations and theater exercises to shape stories about race. Selected pieces will be shared with the public in “Real Stories about Race” at the Overture Center in February.

Theatre LILA invites you to participate in our theater-based storytelling workshops Theatre LILA is offering a unique community building workshop series focused on creating dialogue and building compassion through the sharing of stories and memories around the themes of race. We are seeking participants who are interested in becoming leaders in their communities and those willing to work side by side on a variety of fun theater exercises and physical improvisations that will build communication and leadership LILA has a strong history of facilitating workshops for a variety of groups that develop participant’s teamwork and leadership skills, and provide tools for self-expression.
We hope that this workshop will provide a safe space to hear untold stories that need to be heard and bring our community one step closer to understanding, compassion and open dialogue.
A selection of these stories will be shared with the public in Real Stories About Race premiering in Promenade Hall at Overture Center alongside The Mojo and The Sayso in February
