Red Hot Chili Pipers
This bagpipes (yeah, the drony, Scottish kind) and electric guitar band embraces traditional Scottish folk music and rock classics — it’s not a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band. You’re more likely to hear the Scottish national anthem alongside rock chonkers from the likes of Queen and AC/DC. But then, is life complete until you’re heard “Thunderstruck” on the bagpipes?
media release: Whether performing reimagined classics like Amazing Grace and The Hills of Argyll or rocked-up anthems such as Queen’s We Will Rock You and AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers deliver a live experience like no other. For the past two decades, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers have taken the world by storm with their infectious blend of groundbreaking fusion of traditional Scottish music with rock and pop anthems which they proudly call ‘Bagrock.’
And now you can see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers live at Overture Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 29, at 7:30PM – For tickets visit: https://www.overture.org/
The Chillis’ signature fusion of traditional Scottish bagpipes with rock and pop anthems have made them a viral sensation - their 2019 hit Leave a Light On with Tom Walker boasts over 12 million views on YouTube (watch here). Another standout performance is their electrifying rendition of Insomnia (watch here). And this new tour coincides with the Pipers latest CD release titled Back To The Roots which celebrates 23 years as a group and looks back at the tracks that have inspired them over the years. Back To Roots is their 9th album and a nod to their original bagpipe roots with a rock element added in.
