media release: Sun Prairie Civic Theatre invites audiences to embark ona magical journey through a world of pure imagination with their upcoming production of Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." This beloved story comes to life on stage at the Sun Prairie West High School Performing Arts Center with performances January 10, 11, and 17 at 7 p.m., and January 11, 12, and 18 at 2 p.m.

The talents of more than 70 volunteers from Sun Prairie and surrounding communities are coming together as a cast, technical team and crew to bring the production to life on stage. Together, they will transport audiences into Willy Wonka's extraordinary chocolate factory, where dreams come true and lessons are learned through deliciously sweet adventures.

This stage adaptation, featuring a book by David Greig, includes the enchanting music of Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. Audiences will also delight in hearing Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley’s beloved songs from the motion picture, including the timeless classics "The Candy Man," "I've Got a Golden Ticket," "Pure Imagination," and the unforgettable "Oompa Loompa Song."

Tickets may be purchased online at sunprairiecivictheatre.com or at the door before each performance. Adult tickets are $20. Tickets for seniors (60+) and Active Military members are $17. And youth tickets (18 and under) are $15. All performances are at Sun Prairie West High School’s Performing Arts Center at 2850 Ironwood Drive in Sun Prairie.
