Rob Ickes & Tray Hensley, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen
Stoughton Opera House 381 E. Main St., Stoughton, Wisconsin 53589
press release: Americana knows it’s got a good thing going when Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley get out the strings. Dobro master and lap steel guitarist Rob Ickes pairs seemlessly with acoustic/electric guitarist Trey Hensley. The two joined up in 2015 after discovering their mutual affection for bluegrass, country, and blues. Since cutting their Grammy nominated debut, Before the Sun Goes Down, Ickes and Hensley have toured extensively around Europe, Australia, and the US while playing some of the most sought-after music festivals in the nation. Individually or together, these talented players have contributed to sessions by Merle Haggard, Earl Scruggs, and Toby Keith, among others.
Touring with the duo is Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, the D.C. band named Washington Area Music Association’s Best Bluegrass Band of the Year for four consecutive years. Stiring together Solivan’s mandolin expertise with Mike Munford’s deft banjo picking, Chris Luquette’s apt guitar work, and the steady beat of Jeremy Middleton’s upright bass, Solivan and Dirty Kitchen brew up an ambitious bluegrass sound. With Family, Friends & Heroes released on Compass Records, the band teams up with family members and music icons Del McCoury, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush along with many more.
It’s going to be a night of sensational bluegrass at the STOUGHTON OPERA HOUSE Friday, October 12 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at www.stoughtonoperahouse.com or by calling the box office at (608) 877-4400, Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 am- 4:30 pm.
