SAMHSA Listening Session
press release: Federal staff want to hear from you about your experience with mental health and substance use services in Wisconsin. Individuals, family members, and friends are all welcome to participate. Youth are also encouraged to attend.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides funding to states for mental health and substance use services. Each state receives two grants. One is the Community Mental Health Services Block Grant. The other is the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant. The main goal of these grants is to provide prevention, treatment, and recovery services that supplement services covered by Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. These services include programs staffed by peers, such as peer-run organizations, programs that employ peer specialists, and programs that serve youth and families, such as Coordinated Services Teams.
You’re invited to the following listening session.
Thursday, August 18, 2016, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wisconsin Department of Health Services-Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, 1 West Wilson St., Room 850A, Madison, WI 53703. A light lunch will be provided. Mileage reimbursement is available. Please RSVP: Call 877-820-7831. Use passcode 458043.
