Rhapsody Arts Center Presents a Senior Recital
Five area musicians will present their Senior Performance Recital on Sunday, May 17, at 4:00pm at Rhapsody Arts Center, 1031 North Edge Trail, Verona. The seniors will perform piano, vocal, and strings works by Kuhlau, Yiruma, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Villa-Lobos, Mozart, Satie, Mendelssohn, Marias, Beethoven, Scarlatti, MacDowell, and others as well as a few ensemble pieces. Guest performers include Sanjana Kumar and McKenna Fagan.
The seniors are: Sarah Woody, senior at Middleton High School and daughter of Sumita Ram of Middleton. She will be attending Lawrence University, minoring in vocal performance.
Shivani Kumar, senior at James Madison Memorial High School and daughter of Ritu and Girish Kumar of Madison. She will be attending UNC, studying pre-medicine.
Shannon Hintz, a homeschooled senior and daughter of Lori Hintz of Madison. She will attend University of Minnesota-Duluth pursuing a BFA in Musical Theater.
Kyra Johnson, senior at James Madison Memorial High School and daughter of Andrena and Scott Johnson of Madison.
Haley Prudent, senior at James Madison Memorial High School and daughter of Jim and Karen Prudent of Madison. She will be attending Brandeis University with a minor in music and playing on the women’s soccer team.
The students study with Mickey Lytle (piano), Julie Stalheim (voice), and Charlene Adzima (strings). A reception honoring the students will follow the recital. The event is free and the public is welcome.
More: Rhapsody Arts Center offers lessons in music, art, and drama to students of all ages and levels. A faculty of 20 talented teachers instructs students to enrich and support arts-dedicated education in the community. Rhapsody Arts Center is currently celebrating its 15th year.
