“Around 1928 Abraham Maslow transferred to UW Madison to pursue a Master's degree in psychology. 1934 Maslow received his PhD in the field of psychology. Among his theses is the popular ‘Theory of Motivation,’ which discusses the even more iconic ‘Hierarchy of Needs.’ Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, in short, is a series of motivators and triggers that hope to ascend an individual into transcendence or self-actualization.
“My Maslow, is an exploration into Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs from my own personal experience. In 2013 I lived in Tianjin and visited Shanghai as a 23-year-old UW Student in the International Study Abroad Program (UW IAP). This valuable experience helped me to asses my areas of strength and areas that require improvement as I develop as a person who is able to self-actualize.
“Join me, and I will share with you how I interpret Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs through photos and stories.” – Shia Fisher
