Dane Buy Local May 8 Spring Celebration Helps to Raise Funds for Madison Reading Project
Dane Buy Local, an organization of locally-owned, independent businesses will actively raise support for the Madison Reading Project, a literacy program for vulnerable children in Dane County, at its Spring Celebration on Friday, May 8, 2015, at the Masonic Center, 301 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison.
Partnering with the Madison Reading Project is a new development for Dane Buy Local at its third annual celebration. The Madison Reading Project helps kids find a love for reading and learning about the world. “Dane Buy Local wants to help make these young readers of today into leaders of tomorrow,” stated Colin Murray, executive director.
Along with games played with “funny” money, the evening will be filled with scrumptious hors d'oeuvres and decadent desserts. “Hundreds of auction items have been donated by generous Dane Buy Local members,” said Board President Rick Lenz. “Bidding is certain to be spirited,” he added.
Dane Buy Local’s Spring Celebration is open to the public from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. with auction preview, happy hour, and casino game lessons from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available for advance purchase at bit.ly/dblspring2015 or at the door the evening of the event.
Boardman & Clark Law Firm joins Dane Buy Local as the presenting sponsor of the Spring Celebration with additional support provided by Madison Gas & Electric, A.M. Mailing Services, Zimbrick at Fish Hatchery Road, and National Guardian Life Insurance Company.
