Steven Meyer’s traditional tunes featured on Solo Guitar Arenas include “Scarborough Fair” and “The Skye Boat Song”. The album also includes five original compositions for solo guitar, including “Arenas and Monuments” and “Baroque Minuendo.”
Meyer explains, “I was interested in following up my second album, “Guitar Au Naturel”, which was released in 2018, because the creative blend of different music genres that are connected by history and musical styles is part of my unique approach to solo fingerstyle guitar. I had also written a few new guitar compositions since then, as well.”
Solo Guitar Arenas was produced by Steven Meyer and recorded from June 2021 through October 2021 at Audio for the Arts in Madison.
