Singer-songwriter-guitarists Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw began performing as a duo in 2010. In recent years they switched focus a bit, with McGraw moving to drums, emphasizing the rock side of their folk rock a bit, and reemerging as Sway Wild. Their telepathic connection for harmony singing is also in full effect in the interplay between Fer’s stellar electric guitar style (also heard on lead in Allison Russell’s band) and McGraw’s frenetic drumming.

media release: Mandy Fer first came to the STOUGHTON OPERA HOUSE playing lead electric for 3x GRAMMY-nominated Allison Russell in Februrary, 2022. Fer returned in May with SWAY WILD, a self-described Innovative indie-folk-funk-rock power duo from the Pacific Northwest, to open for OPERA HOUSE favorite, Eilen Jewell. Now she’s coming back, Fender Stratocaster in hand, with drummer/songwriter Dave McGraw to SWAY WILD for a third, glorious time. 

(Fer’s and McGraw’s) exceptional harmonies coupled with Fer's pioneering electric guitar work have become a vehicle to carry them around the world, sharing the stage with such acts as Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard, Lake Street Dive, Gregory Alan Isakov and many others. Winning over audiences from Alaska to Amsterdam, SWAY WILD performs a heartfelt and dynamic blend of innovative folk-rock, pop, and funk. Their debut self-titled album includes special guests Birds of Chicago, Sean Hayes, Anna Tivel and more.
