TAPIT/new works will mark National Tap Dance Day with a swinging Student Jazz Jam, Sunday, May 17, 2:00 – 3:00 PM, TAPIT/new works Studio Theater on Madison’s vibrant east side at Schenks Corners, 1957 Winnebago Street.
National Tap Dance Day, a national holiday proclaimed by the U.S. Congress, commemorates the birthday of tap master, Bill "BoJangles" Robinson and recognizes the art of American rhythm dance, its heritage and African-American roots and Irish roots.
Tappers from age 8 to 70+ will strut their stuff to the deft musicianship of pianist/composer, Jane Reynolds. Admission is free. Reservations required. Seating is limited. Please contact: info@tapitnewworks.org or 608.244.2938 for more information.
