Test the Waters
Madison Children's Museum 100 N. Hamilton St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
World Water Day is an international celebration of the world’s freshwater resources, focusing attention on critical water issues and the sustainable management of our resources. Madison Water Utility is partnering with the UW-Madison Water Sustainability and Climate Project, Dane County Land & Water Resources, the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, and more for activities all week long. MCM will host these special programs on March 22:
Test the Waters | 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Explore water! What can sink, what floats? How does water move through and around objects? (This is a great chance for under-fives to practice scooping skills!)
Watershed Exploration | 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. Celebrate World Water Day by learning about watersheds and how they work. Look at lake water under the microscope, and try your hand at fishing for bait minnows with nets.
Seymore's Adventures! Visit this exhibit on the first floor to learn about fish anatomy, lake habitats, and more.
