press release: Genre Blast features the bands The Central, Gods In The Chrysalis, Fin Zipper, and Moonchyld. It is ages 21+, $5, and doors are at 7 pm. Each band is a completely different genre, but each band doesn't even fit squarely within their own genre. The Central are a 2-piece grindcore spastic band that hit wild dynamics, especially live. Gods In The Chrysalis play alternative/metal/noise/folk (sometimes in the same song,sometimes not) while using acoustic guitar and foot pedals. Fin Zipper are a band formed here at the UW who do psych/jam/rock and roll funk, and Moonchyld are electronic with live instruments in the mix and female vocals--trippy shoegaze electronic.
