The Knee That Started A Social Movement
RSG Live: Athletes and The Movement Series
Doors Open: 6:30 PM; Showtime: 7:00 PM
For decades, athletes have given voice to, and become important symbols of, historic social movements. Recently, the world was reminded yet again the impact athletes can have for social change - with the act of "taking a knee during the national anthem" by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
In the midst of all the excitement surrounding the upcoming Ohio State v. Wisconsin football game, the Real Sports Guys partnered up with Carbon World Health to present a live show entitled "Athletes and the Movement: The Knee that Started a Social Movement!"
This event is a LIVE and intimate RSG show that will address the state of race in America and within sports. Our invited special guests are Maurice Clarrett (Former Buckeye and NFL player) and Chris Borland (Former Badger and NFL player). Our goal is to have a candid discussion around these topics and encourage open dialogue amongst people that listen to understand, learn and create solutions rather then simply to reply.
Limited seating available. If you wish to attend, RSVP now and reserve your seat to this great event! Please note you will not be allowed in without a ticket!
The evening schedule is as follows:
6:30pm-7pm Doors Open for RSG Live Event
7pm-9pm RSG Live - "Athletes and the Movement: The Knee that Started a Social Movement!"
We would like to thank our Community Partners for the event - WeiLab, Latino Professionals Association, Urban League of Greater Madison
