Of all the punk bands to emerge from England in the late ’70s, the Mekons might be the hardest to pin down. Self-described as a “fundamentalist punk rock art project,” the band has also incorporated elements of folk and country, creating a sound that’s as much Gram Parsons as it is Graham Parker. They’re appearing at the Mineral Point Opera House as part of a rare full band tour.
