press release: Two award-winning playwrights with Madison College connections will discuss their careers and offer tips for developing writers at a Writer’s Life Lecture Series panel discussion to be held at noon on Wednesday, March 28, noon to 1 p.m. in the Studio Theater (Room A2031) at the Madison College Truax Campus.
Holly Walter Kerby is the founder and Executive Director of Fusion Science Theater and co-founder of Wisconsin Story Works. Kerby is faculty emeritus from Madison College where she taught chemistry, physics, and playwriting. She currently develops and facilitates workshops, classes and video curriculum for the UW-Madison and the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science.
Karen Saari’s play In a Clearing was selected for the 2015 Wisconsin Wrights New Play Festival and is currently a semi-finalist for the Eugene O’Neill Playwriting Conference. Among her many credits, her one-act play Joyland was chosen for a night of Women’s One-acts in Minneapolis area May, 2018. Saari, who works as a copywriter in the Madison College Office of Communications and Strategic Marketing, is also a voice talent, actor, and mother of two.
