Paintings from the art project, ART AS SOCIAL INQUIRY
Theresa BrownGold is a portrait painter. She uses art to start dialog around social issues – access to healthcare, immigration, war, and dying. Her project is called Art As Social Inquiry. She paints large, expressionistic faces as a way to tell personal stories and connect the viewers to those stories — to real people. She has taken the portraits to Washington DC to demonstrate in front of the US Supreme Court and Capitol as a way to bear witness for those trying to access healthcare. She is currently taking the portraits to conferences, classrooms, churches and other venues, and giving talks about the true meaning of compassion.
Through Friday, July 29; Café hours 6AM- 7PM
