Three Thin Dimes

press release: THREE THIN DIMES  is a five-member string band. Guided by Lynn “Chirps” Smith‘s rock-solid fiddling and encyclopedic knowledge of the old-time repertoire of the American Midwest, and aided by fellow travelers Steve Tesmer (dobro), Ben Knowles (guitar, vocals), Allen Wilson (banjo), and Dominic Frinzi(bass), this band aims to set toes a-tapping. Expect a setlist that samples widely from various acoustic traditions, from Appalachian fiddle/banjo jams to Irish jigs and reels, from 70s-era newgrass to ragtime blues, and the occasional Hawaiian slide guitar interlude thrown in for good measure.
