media release: The Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Sextet has been honoring and keeping alive the latin jazz tradition for over 10 years, playing the music of what some call the Golden Age of Latin Jazz. (1940's-1960's) Constantly searching for the obscure gems of that era, the band felt a responsibility to present these treasures to a new audience with new vigor and life! The Afro-Cuban Jazz arrangements of that period are outrageously timeless and remain on a par with any jazz music coming out today.
