Traveling to Eat: Uncommon Herbs, Spices & Other Edibles Around the World

press release: Discover the flavors of the world with Joan Peterson, publisher of the Eat Smart Culinary Travel Guides for travelers and cookbook lovers, at the Verona Public Library on Monday, June 10, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dessert will be available to sample, and books and travel items will be on display.

An experienced traveler, Joan leads culinary tours to Turkey, India, Morocco, Peru, and Sicily. In 2018, the Eat Smart Culinary Travel Guides series, published in Madison, was awarded the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards' top honor, Best in the World, in the Food Series category. Joan has written or co-written 11 of the 14 guidebooks to the following destinations: Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, India, Morocco, Norway, Portugal, Peru, and Sicily.

Joan is also the co-founder of the Travel Publishers Association, whose members publish travel books that help travelers plan their own adventures
