This marks the eighth year that Bobby Hussy’s Kind Turkey Records has hosted its annual Turkeyfest, and this incarnation promises to be another wild three-day celebration of eccentric punk rock. Highlights include local favorites The Hussy, Wood Chickens (pictured), Fire Heads, Dumb Vision and German Art Students, as well as a handful of national and international acts, including Kiwi garage punks BloodBags and Memphis-based darkwave outfit Sweet Knives, a reboot of Lost Sounds minus the late, great Jay Reatard. Thursday, October 12 - Mickey's Tavern - FREE - 10 PM

WOOD CHICKENS (Big Neck Records, Kitschy Manitou Records, Rare Plant): Madison's premiere speed twangers! Cowpunk made right! Fast paced fun for everyone! 

Closing out the first night of Turkeyfest in style! Our favorite current Madison rock band! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Debut LP, "Countrycide" is a effortless tangle of psych, garage, country, punk, rock and everything in between! Available at this show! For fans of: The Meat Puppets, The Country Teasers, Minutemen, Camper Van Beethoven, Dead Milkmen.

DUMB VISION (Big Neck Records): Madison grunge-fuzz punkers. The most recent addition to the ever evolving Big Neck Records roster! Recent touring has made the band tighter and craftier than ever!  Hooks that rot in the back of yr bong-soaked brain with a slew of squirrely guitar. Members of Fire Heads, Wood Chickens, Coordinated Suicides, Dharma Dogs, ETC. For fans of: Jay Reatard, Times New Viking, Bass Drum of Death, early Wavves.

BLOODBAGS (1:12 Records, Stink Magnetic): Turkeyfest's FIRST international act! Scum punk rock n roll from Kiwi Land (New Zealand)! No bullshit rock n roll in the vein of all the Detroit and Memphis greats! Screaming sonics with sharp punches! Honored to have them on the fest! For fans of: The Hellacopters, The Oblivions, The Reatards, The Stooges, MC5, The Gories.

PSYCHOTIC REACTION (Tussin Records, Wet Dream Records): Fantastic psychedelic punk blues on tour from Oklahoma City! Veterans of the touring circuit, the band has played a mountain of shows since forming in 2006. Gonerfest Alumni, (as are 5 of the other acts playing Turkeyfest this year....if our count is right...) and they have blown minds all across the US of A. Do not miss! Starting things off right at 10 PM! For fans of: The Gun Club, The Oblivions, Jon Spencer, Pussy Galore, Spacemen 3, The Cramps.
