Twiddle, Midnight North
$15. Doors 8 pm.
press release: Twiddle, a Vermont based quartet, spins tall tales over an intricate soundscape of hi-def shred. Their fresh multi-genre approach conjures up jazz, classical, and bluegrass, but above all, masterfully blends reggae and funk. Obliterating laws of improvisation, their complex arrangements never fail to leave crowds lusting for more. With sage songwriting and unmatched variety, Twiddle’s thrilling infancy will surely exceed all expectation.
"Chapter 2" of Plump, follows the December 2015 release of the preceding disc "Chapter One." The new "chapter" features several tracks that were engineered by the legendary producer Ron Saint Germain. While Twiddle has become known for their extensive improvisation at live shows, the band's maturation is evident on this more accessible, lyrically-driven soundtrack. Plump is filled with catchy earworms and radio-friendly pop hooks, and is joined by the accompaniment of horns and strings on this reggae and funk tinged recording.
