press release: The Wisconsin track and field program will host the Wisconsin Alumni Classic this Friday at the McClimon Track Complex, the team’s final meet before the 2019 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend in Iowa City, Iowa.
Friday’s meet will mark the home track debut for Doak Walker Award winner Jonathan Taylor as the sophomore will compete in the Badgers’ 4x100-meter relay at 5:33 p.m. CT. Taylor made his UW debut last weekend at the Penn Relays.
In addition, a trio of Olympic hopefuls will compete on Friday as 2016 Olympian Kelsey Card will throw the discus around 5 p.m., fellow 2016 Olympian Zach Ziemek will race in the 110 hurdles at 4:45 p.m. and 2018 NCAA champion Georgia Ellenwood will compete at 4:30 p.m. in the 100 hurdles.
The Badgers will also honor their 16-member senior class, which features three-time NCAA champion Morgan McDonald, at 7:20 p.m.
