press release:
The Verona Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite music lovers from all over southern Wisconsin to Hometown, U.S.A. on July 24-25, 2015 for the first-annual Verona Music Festival. The two-day, outdoor event, to be held at Verona’s Hometown Festival Park, will feature a variety of performers capped off by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. Best of all, the event is free and open to the public.
“We had been searching for an event that would showcase the arts in Verona,” Karl Curtis, executive director of the Verona Area Chamber of Commerce, said, “and with this festival we think we have really hit a homerun. The talent we have on stage is outstanding.”
The festival will open on Friday, July 24 at 5 p.m. with an hour-long performance by All That Jazz. At 7 p.m. local favorites Steely Dane will perform until 9 p.m.
On Saturday, the Whitty-Schipper Collective will bring their jazz stylings to the stage beginning at 2:00 p.m., and they will be followed by “Best of Madison” award winner Brandon Beebe from 4-5:30. At 7 p.m. the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra will take the stage performing a special selection of music by the Eagles.
Food from Verona vendors, beer, wine and soft drinks will all be available at the festival grounds. Guests are strongly encouraged to help keep this event free by supporting the local vendors at the fairgrounds. Parking will be readily available at and around the fairgrounds and at several nearby businesses.
“This is an opportunity to see some great performances without the hassle of Madison traffic and parking,” Curtis added. “We’re looking forward to a great turnout and a great event.”
Major support for the Verona Music Festival come from Pasqual’s Cantina, Wisconsin Brewing Company, KSW Construction and Coldwell Banker Success Realty/Kathy Bartels as well as many other Verona businesses.
