Join the McPherson Eye Research Institute and friends to learn how vision works for owls and bats in their nighttime environment. Dr. Gillian Shaw (DVM PhD, COPLOW fellow) will be speaking on the visual systems and adaptations of bats and owls to nocturnal environments. Dr. Melissa Behr (DVM, Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostics Lab) will be speaking about bats in Wisconsin and white nose disease. Matt Reetz (executive director, Madison Audubon Society) will be speaking about owls in Wisconsin. Check out displays about state owls and bats and tour the Arboretum grounds.
