Verona Library 500 Silent St., Verona, Wisconsin 53593
press release: After an almost five-year journey to the solar system's largest planet, NASA's Juno spacecraft successfully entered Jupiter's orbit on the Fourth of July. Learn more about Juno’s mission with Kevin Hutchison, Madison and Milwaukee’s Solar System Ambassador, at the Verona Public Library on Thursday, September 22, from 7 to 8 p.m. Hutchison will discuss the mission to Jupiter, including theories on how Jupiter was formed, its unique Great Red Spot, and other scientific discoveries about the gas giant.
The Solar System Ambassadors Program (SSA) is a public outreach program designed to work with motivated volunteers across the nation. These volunteers communicate the excitement of space exploration missions and information about recent discoveries to people in their local communities. SSA is sponsored by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, an operating division of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and a lead research and development center for NASA.
This presentation is free and open to the public. To register, or for information, call 608-845-7180. The Verona Public Library is located at 500 Silent Street.
