Webb Wilder
Webb Wilder will celebrate his 70th birthday later in May with a show in Nashville, and you can bet it will be a rockin' good time. But you don’t have to wait until May (or travel farther than Winnebago Street) to get in on the action, as Wilder and the Beatnecks are finally making it to Madtown for a show originally scheduled in 2021. It’s a Music Makes a Difference! benefit for the Cap Times' Kids Fund of Madison. Madison blues-roots rock trio Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo will open.
media release: Music Makes A Difference is proud to announce an electrifying concert event featuring Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks, set to take place on Saturday March 30th at The Bur Oak located at 2262 Winnebago St in Madison. The evening promises a dynamic performance by Webb Wilder and his band, with all proceeds benefiting The Cap Times Kids Fund of Madison.
Doors for the event will swing open at 6:00 PM, kicking off an evening of musical delight. The stage will be warmed up by the rockin’ blues sounds of Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo at 7pm before Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks take the spotlight.
Described as a "riddle spewing prophet of roots rock and roll" and "the last of the Full Grown Men and Roots Rock Royalty," Webb Wilder is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Hailing from Hattiesburg, Wilder's 1986 debut album, "It Came from Nashville," was named one of the 50 Best Southern Rock Albums of All-Time by Paste Magazine. Wilder's engaging personality led him to become one of America's first Satellite DJs on XM Radio, and he now hosts the Americana Countdown show on WMOT radio/Nashville while continuing his three-decade career as an electrifying artist on stages worldwide. His latest release, "Night Without Love," hit shelves in 2020 on Landslide Records.
"Webb flat out rocks! They serve up potent Southern comfort," raves Rolling Stone Magazine.
“These days the term ‘roots rocker’ is almost meaningless, but Wilder’s blend of a rocker’s heart with a hillbilly’s soul is probably the best aural definition of it yet.” Time Out Chicago
Tickets for this unforgettable evening are priced at $15, offering attendees an affordable opportunity to experience top-tier entertainment while supporting a worthy cause.
