Wisconsin Hip-Hop Fest
with WebsterX, Gerald Walker, Dumate, CRASHprez, Sincere Life, Zed Kenzo, Broadway Muse, MC Mojamid
Friday, Jan. 13, Majestic Theatre, 8 pm
With seven dope acts from Milwaukee and Madison, this is a helluva lot of hip-hop for just 10 bucks. Count on MKE’s WebsterX to spit his soul-searching lyrics over slow, spaced-out beats. Gerald Walker, also from Brew City, brings a smoother storytelling to more up-tempo tracks. And Zed Kenzo’s sporadic, ever-changing flow over EDM-esque production rounds out the Milwaukee contingent. For Madison artists, CRASHprez’s (pictured) high energy and anger about the social status quo and race relations will move the crowd, while Sincere Life’s dark, aggressive tales tantalize, and Broadway Muse keeps you guessing with her varied verbal calisthenics. Live hip-hop band dumate will also take the stage for their first show in a while. Whether you’re a die-hard local rap fan or just curious about what our homegrown emcees have to offer, this show will feed your fix. Hosted by DJ mojamid. Bonus: $1 from every ticket goes to Planned Parenthood.

A lot of things make Wisconsin great. We could write a novel about it. But we are a music venue, and showcasing the diverse musical artistry that comes pouring out of our state makes us more proud than any beer or cheese ever could. We are expanding our annual “Wisconsin Fest” series to include Metal in 2017, as well as Funk, Hip-Hop, Punk, and Bluegrass. Five nights dedicated to celebrating prolific Wisconsin artists in five unique genres that are all proud to call our state home. Take a chance on any of these nights and we promise you’ll be impressed by what you see and hear. Come out and show some love for the music that helps shape our culture. Also we will have BEER (and whiskey and other things)!
We support great bands AND great causes here in Wisconsin, so we’ll be donating $1.00 from every Wisconsin Fest ticket to our friends at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin.
