Whad'Ya Know?
High Noon Saloon 701A E. Washington Ave., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
$10.
press release: He’s back! Radio quizmaster Michael Feldman is out of what he calls “refiredment” and into the newstream with a comedy/quiz/interview/music podcast/youtube livecast. All the WYK fun you've come to expect, possibly more. Stephanie Lee has been promoted to co-host. John Thulin is on keyboards and offhand remarks, and Jeff Hamann resounds on funky bass. Tickets can be had through the High Noon Saloon website or at the door. The show will stream live on YouTube and call-in at (608) 630-9838 — that’s (608) ME-09-VET because, according to Feldman, “WHAK-NOW was not available.”
“We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here,” says Feldman. “We got what a radio guy would be doing if Marconi had never come along: a radiocast, both live and in convenient pod form. Either way, this will tickle your ear buds.”
The two-hour premiere at the High Noon Saloon — Madison’s favorite music venue — will feature the rockin’ R&B sensations The Jimmys. A weekly podcast of Whad’ya Know will be released on the Public Radio International website and on iTunes, via the PRI app. PRI distributed Whad’ya Know on public radio.
“We are ecstatic, and I don’t feel that way often, to be back with PRI,” says Feldman.
The Whad’ya Know audience that Feldman calls “the best audience a guy ever had,” made the podcast possible through a hugely successful Kickstarter appeal.
Tickets are available now to be part of the live studio audience. Shows are on Saturdays at high noon at the (family-friendly) High Noon Saloon:
September 3: Guest band, The Jimmys
September 17: Guest band, The Rousers
October 2: (Sunday) with John Sieger & Semi-Twang
October 29, November 12, November 26 & December 3 guests TBA, but it’ll be terrific
December 17: Holiday party, so bring a dish to pass!
