press release: On Saturday, September 17, 2016, there will be a day of translation-related events at the Art + Literature Laboratory (2021 Winnebago Street, Madison, WI). 608-556-7415.
11 am - 12 pm: Jamie Richards, an award-winning translator of academic work and graphic novel, will be joining participants at ALL to "hang out" via Google. this talk is an hour of advice, tips and tidbits for anyone who would like to translate or be translated!

In the afternoon, an exhibit of translators' work What's (an) Original? will be up for viewing. The afternoon also hosts a "Kids Caption" event from 3 pm - 5 pm to give kids a feel for what it's like to write in onomatopoeia in Hindi, Korean, Russian, Hebrew, Japanese, and Mandarin. Adults are free to take in the exhibit, kids have fun! Free, donation appreciated.
