press release: Conservative case for clean energy topic at Aug. 30 Cleantech Network forum
The political left has historically “owned” clean energy from a policy and political perspective. Mark Pischea of the Conservative Energy Network will discuss how political conservatives must be engaged to pave the way for future clean energy policy during the Aug. 30 Wisconsin Cleantech Network forum.
The forum will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wisconsin Energy Institute, 1552 University Ave., on the UW-Madison campus. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. The cost is included for WIN members, $10 for general admission in advance and $20 at the door.
Pischea is a partner in The Sterling Corp., a Michigan-based advocacy firm, and a former Republican Party state director. He and the Conservative Energy Network are new players on the clean energy advocacy landscape, helping to lead state-based conservative clean energy engagement nationwide. The network’s talking points revolve around the need for new clean energy policies to create jobs, expand economies, support innovation, make states more competitive and improve national and grid security.
“In a political year in which there are more sharp divides than bipartisan areas of agreement, we welcome Mark to Wisconsin to make the case for why clean energy is right for the economy, national security and the environment,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council.
The Cleantech Network forums focus on the needs and challenges faced by entrepreneurs and others working in Wisconsin’s clean technology sectors. That includes power systems, controls, alternative fuels and more.
The forums are produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council in cooperation with the Mid-West Energy Research Consortium, Godfrey & Kahn, the Wisconsin Energy Institute and Kremer Ventures.
