Tar Sands Pipelines in Wisconsin
One of the largest tar sands pipelines in the world (larger than the proposed and rejected Keystone XL tar sands pipeline) cuts through the heart of Wisconsin. This pipeline is called Enbridge’s Line 61, and carries up to 1.2 million barrels of tar sands oil per day. In addition, Enbridge has recently announced that they plan to “twin” this pipeline and build another in that pipeline corridor.
