Undisclosed Sims
WORT-FM was ahead of the curve a few years back when the community radio station moved its annual spring festival to Warner Park, on the ever-hipper north side. Local food, varied vendors and nonprofit booths, and beverages coordinated by the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild bring the fest-y flavor, and the music lineup is typically eclectic. The day begins with the Afro-Colombian sounds of Son del Atlantico, and ends with Celtic infused folk-punkers Boiled in Lead; in between is bluegrass from Strings to Roam, a BlueStem Jazz visit by Undisclosed Sims, rock and soul from Roscoe Foster & the Rascal Theory, and socially aware Forward! Marching Band. Don’t forget to watch out for Warner Park’s cranes in the parking lot. Find the schedule below.
media release: WORT 89.9 FM Community Radio is planning our annual outdoor music event, WORTstock, to be held in Warner Park on Sunday, May 19. WORT has a 48-year history of broadcasting, and our outdoor music festival has entertained audiences for more than 25 years with diverse lineups of local and regional musicians in a wide variety of genres. It is a celebration of the diverse music WORT offers listeners every day, and the hundreds of volunteers who come together to make it all happen. We partner with local food and craft vendors, as well as with Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild, who provide a cornucopia of beverages in rotating selections throughout the day. We are excited to return to gorgeous Warner Park to host the first outdoor music festival of the season. The event has grown every year, and we are honored to bring a diverse mix of great local music to Madison’s north side once again.
Stage Schedule:
12:00 Son del Atlantico (Afro-Colombian)
1:20 Strings to Roam (Bluegrass)
2:40 BlueStem Jazz presents Undisclosed Sims (Psychedelic Jazz)
4:00 Roscoe Foster & The Rascal Theory (Blues, Funk, Rock & Soul)
5 pm Forward! Marching Band

WORTstock Has More Vendors Than Ever Before!
One of the best things about music festivals is the food vending. WORTstock does not disappoint. Cafe Costa Rica conjures Caribbean flavor made with love. Uyghur Grill, Rollicious Creamery, Todofresco, and Soho Gourmet Cuisines will offer a wide selection of far-east flavors. M&J Jamaican Kitch’n will be there to spice things up, and JustVeggiez will offer plant-based heaven. For carnivores, Keystone Grill is back with their delicious barbeque. This year, we also have Pizza Brutta and their mobile wood-fired pizza oven! For tighter budgets we’ve got Family Farm Defenders offering their grilled cheese sammies with a side of activism stickers, Salty Bitch baked goods, and fresh kettle corn from Ernie’s Kettle Korn.
While at WORTstock, be sure to browse the craft vendors! Madison Greenhouse Store will be there to help improve your green thumb, Y Knot offers unique handcrafted plant hangers. Green County Hemp and The Great Midwest Hemp Fest folks have products to soothe and delight and Chiro One Wellness will help get the kinks out. Amsterdam and Earth Delights will both have a wide selection of jewelry and other items, Inti Fair Trade, Spinning Handiworks and Akarim African Enterprise are back with an incredible variety of wares. Spicy Bastard will help you heat up your cuisine. And of course, WORTstock wouldn’t be complete without Ken Vogel and his marionettes.
WORTstock is made possible with help from our sponsors: Union Cab of Madison, DaneArts, BlueStem Jazz, MGE Foundation, Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild, Summit Credit Union, Hoyos Consulting, and WSUM 91.7FM.
