Jalapeño Mexican Grill, 1821 South Park St., with a grand opening July 27, featuring tacos, gorditas, guaraches, burritos, chimichangas and pupusas.
La Taguara, 3502 E. Washington Ave., Venezuelan and Latin American food, 608-721-9100, is aiming for an opening in early August.
La Nena and Fruteria Ali, 3559 E. Washington Ave., to be located in Mercadito Madison, are hoping to open in late August. La Nena will feature tortas, tacos, grilled chicken and Mexican hot dogs, with barbacoa, carnitas, tamales and menudo on weekends. Fruteria Ali will serve specialty snow cones, smoothies, shakes, fruit desserts and horchata.
Wine events
Wine dinners upcoming at L'Etoile include Riesling (July 30), Russian River Valley (Aug. 27), wines of the Willamette Valley (Sept. 24) and wines from Sea Smoke of California (Oct. 29), all paired with a four-course menu. Call 608-251-0500 for reservations.
The Fisher King Winery, 102 W. Main St., in Mount Horeb, is hosting a fundraiser to help end domestic abuse. On July 28 from noon-4 p.m. all profits will be donated to End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin.
