Manna Cafe & Bakery, 611 N. Sherman Ave., will be closed for remodeling until Jan. 22. On Jan. 23 it will reopen with expanded evening hours (Tuesday-Saturday until 9 p.m.) and a new dinner menu.
Special dinners
Brasserie V will hold an open house 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Jan. 12 to benefit chef Rob Grisham, who had emergency open-heart surgery in November. Brasserie V dishes, beer and wine will be on hand for a suggested donation of $50.
The Heartland Beer Dinner will take place at the Sheraton's Heartland Grill on Jan. 17. Chef James Deptula and Isthmus beer writer Robin Shepard have crafted a five-course menu pairing. Tickets ($70/$80) are available with or without a tour of Wisconsin Brewing Co. in Verona, hosted by Hop Head Beer Tours. For more info, see IsthmusBeerCheese.com.
Madison Restaurant Week will run Jan. 19-24. Forty-seven restaurants will offer three-course prix fixe dinners, most for $25, though some restaurants offer $30 or $35 options; some also offer $15 lunches. For more info see MadisonRestaurantWeek.com.
