The Side Door Grill and Tap, 240 W. Gilman St., is the latest restaurant to reside downstairs from Samba Brazilian Grill, following Cafe Samba and Samba Lounge. Specialty burgers, homemade "tater tots," flatbread pizzas and 33 American microbrews on tap are the core, with a small entree menu.
The new grill is owned by Samba's owners, but is a "separate entity," according to general manager Travis Grant.
Grant comes to Madison from the Minneapolis bar Stub and Herbs. The taps at Side Door will rotate 3-4 beers a week, says Grant; currently there's a good selection of top Wisco craft brews, a rye beer from House of Brews, and some interesting out-of-staters like Tall Grass Vanilla Buffalo Sweat out of Kansas, Flying Dog St.EADman Belgian Dark from Maryland and Destihl's Strawberry Blonde from Illinois.
