UP: Bicyclists. Madison pushes ahead with plans to complete the Cannonball Path with a $3.6 million pedestrian/bike bridge over the Beltline between Todd Drive and Fish Hatchery Road. The bridge will be constructed with funds from both the state Department of Transportation and the federal government.
DOWN: Protesters. The state Department of Administration updates its rules to make protesting much more restrictive at state facilities. Groups of four or more people are now required to get a permit at least 72 hours in advance and may be required to pay for security, cleanup and other costs. You may not be able to please everybody, but you can please yourself by silencing critics.
