UP: Bring the Troops Home Now coalition. The group's Madison referendum urging the U.S. to bring its troops home from Iraq passes, 24,344 to 11,252. Voters in 24 of 32 other Wisconsin communities facing a similar referendum also answer yes.
DOWN: UW-Madison. The university once again earns the dubious distinction of being named the nation's No. 1 party school, this time by Playboy magazine. In Playboy's review of "books, babes and beer," Madison is lauded for the Mifflin Street Block Party and Halloween on State Street. The magazine's editorial director says the key question was, "Where would a guy who wants to live the Playboy lifestyle want to go to school?" Sigh.
