UP: Paul Barrows. The former UW-Madison vice chancellor settles several legal actions he filed against the university for $135,000. The UW also agrees to remove a letter from his personnel file reprimanding him for his behavior toward women. Barrows was placed on leave for having a consensual affair with a 40-year-old grad student. He was also accused of sexually harassing female employees, but an appeals committee later cleared him of misconduct. He resigned from the UW last year.
DOWN: Mike Huebsch. The state Assembly speaker delays a bill that would require hospitals to offer emergency contraception to rape victims. Huebsch (R-West Salem) says he has "constitutional" concerns about the bill, because medical professionals who object on religious grounds would be forced to dispense contraception.
