UP: Wanda Fullmore. After 40 years, she retires as mayoral office clerk, having served with five Madison mayors. Mayor Paul Soglin tells the Wisconsin State Journal: "She is the face and the voice of the city." Enjoy your retirement, Wanda.
DOWN: WORT block party. The community radio station is prevented from having its annual neighborhood party in its own neighborhood after 26% of neighbors do not sign up to support it. The opposition reportedly comes from the neighboring 74-unit Fourth Ward Lofts at 614 W. Doty St. The party has been held next to the station, 118 S. Bedford St., for the past 16 years. WORT hopes to host its party on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. on May 18.
