UP: Wisconsin banks. Banks reported their most profitable first quarter in four years. Also, more state banks were profitable than in any quarter since 2008.
DOWN: Teeth. The Oral Health Coalition of Dane County reports that more than 11,000 visits were made to emergency rooms, clinics and doctors' offices for dental pain in 2010. The ER visits cost $1.6 million. Coalition member Nan Peterson tells the Wisconsin State Journal: "This is an expensive as well as inefficient and really inappropriate use of resources."
