UP: Wisconsin Republicans. Although Democratic victories across the country on Tuesday left conservatives despondent, Republicans regained complete control of state government by winning back the Senate. Well, they probably won't do anything too rash or crazy while they're running things.
DOWN: Tommy Thompson. The former governor has always enjoyed a special relationship with Wisconsin, revered by conservatives and grudgingly tolerated by liberals. But he couldn't beat Tammy Baldwin in their U.S. Senate race, and now says he won't run for office again.
