UP: Wisconsin residents. A new report by the American Cancer Society finds that the state's cancer rates have dropped 14% for men and 7% for women, with death rates from cancer declining 11% for men and 8% for women. Lung cancer remains the most common cause of cancer death in Wisconsin.
DOWN: Wisconsin veterans. The Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau finds that at least 12 residents at a state veterans home in Union Grove were forced out when fees were raised to match costs. The audit also finds substantial violations of state rules for purchasing goods and services.
