UP: Yahara Lakes. The Clean Lakes Alliance unveils a $138 million plan to cut phosphorus deposits in Madison's lakes by 50%. Some of the strategies include improved leaf collection, reduction of sediment in municipal stormwater, more manure digesters, and a pilot adaptive-management program involving 21 municipalities around the Yahara Lakes watershed. County Executive Joe Parisi tells a crowd of 1,000 at a breakfast meeting that "we have truly an unprecedented opportunity to implement a detailed plan that will produce quality reports."
